Prior to starting CraveLabs, Jeff was a co-founder of and CTO for Newbury Networks, a Boston based company incubated in 2001 which focused on indoor location tracking systems for enterprise wireless networks. Jeff has multiple patents in the area of location tracking systems, and has worked with industry groups to define multi-vendor standards for location tracking and mobile/wireless applications. Newbury was acquired by Trapeze Networks in 2008, which was then acquired by Juniper Networks in late 2010. Prior to Newbury, Jeff worked on transfering R&D technology research into product engineering teams at Virtual Ink/Mimio. Jeff has a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he received funding from the National Science Foundation for undergraduate research work in real-time communications systems.
Frictionless, ground-breaking and dead simple - Jeff sought these features in tech solutions since his first exposure to the Boston tech world during the dot.com boom. At CraveLabs, Jeff found all three and he uses his legal, strategic, business development and software implementation skills to bring the CraveLabs solution to the wider world. Prior to joining CraveLabs Jeff practiced law in Boston for 7 years - most recently as a member of the Latham & Watkins LLP emerging companies group. Jeff's practice included representation of numerous technology companies and deal work as counsel and strategy consultant to management teams, venture capital firms, underwriters and boards of directors in M&A, capital markets, licensing and other general corporate transactions. Jeff has also represented several non-profit organizations, including the Codman Academy in Dorchester, MA, and has served on the boards of Boston Musica Viva and St. Paul Parish, Cambridge, MA. A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, cum laude, and Boston College, magna cum laude (Philosophy and History) Jeff also matriculated at Mansfield College, Oxford University during his junior year where he read Philosophy and History. While in law school Jeff was a boxer on the Notre Dame Bengal Bouts Boxing Team, ran the Rome Marathon and worked in the U.S. Embassy in London for the Department of Justice Civil Division.
